How to Create and Edit Text Templates

Hello! In this guide, you’ll learn how to create and manage text message templates in LeadCenter.ai.
Text message templates allow you to automate client communication, save time, and maintain consistency across reminders, campaigns, and follow-ups.

1. What Are Text Message Templates?

Text message templates are predefined messages that can be reused across multiple LeadCenter modules. They help automate communication while keeping your messages personalized and professional.

You can use text templates for:

  • Text message marketing campaigns
  • Keyword campaigns
  • Automated workflows
  • Appointment reminders
  • Client review reminders
  • Event reminders
  • Direct client messages (via the “Send Text Message” button)

Using templates ensures your communication remains consistent across your team while reducing manual work.

2. Accessing Text Message Templates

There are two main ways to access your text templates in LeadCenter:

Option 1 — From the Dashboard

  1. Go to the main dashboard.
  2. Click Templates from the left-hand menu.
  3. Select Text.

Option 2 — From Settings

  1. Click your name in the upper-right corner.
  2. Choose Settings.
  3. Go to the Workflow & Templates tab.
  4. Click Text Templates.

Both methods will open the Text Templates page, where you can view, create, and edit templates.

3. Creating a New Text Message Template

To create a new template:

  1. Click New Template.
  2. Enter a template name — for example, “Appointment Reminder.”
  3. Assign it to a category such as Sales, Marketing, or Appointments to keep your templates organized.
  4. Type your message in the message box.

You can write plain text or personalize it using short codes.

4. Using Short Codes for Personalization

Short codes allow you to automatically insert dynamic information such as the contact’s name, appointment details, or event date.

To insert short codes:

  1. Click the Short Codes button.
  2. Choose a category — for example, Contact Basic Short Codes.
  3. Select a field like First Name to insert it into the message.
  4. You can also add the sender’s name or other details for personalization.

Example message:

Hi [First Name], this is [Sender Name] from LeadCenter. Just a quick reminder about your appointment tomorrow at 2 PM.

5. Editing an Existing Template

To edit a template:

  1. On the Text Templates page, find the one you want to modify.
  2. Click the three dots (⋮) next to it.
  3. Select Edit.
  4. Make your changes — update the message, category, or short codes.
  5. Click Save when done.

Your updates will apply immediately wherever the template is used (e.g., workflows, reminders, or campaigns).

6. Saving and Using Your Template

Once you’ve created or edited a template:

  • Click Save to store it.
  • It can now be used across LeadCenter modules — including text campaigns, automated workflows, and appointment/event reminders.
  • You can also use it instantly when sending texts directly from a contact’s profile.
