How to Manage Tasks for a Contact
Hello, my name is Chris. In this article, you'll learn how to manage tasks for a contact in LeadCenter.
Accessing Contact Tasks
To get started:
- Open the Contact Details page.
- Select Tasks from the left-hand menu.
This shows all tasks currently open and assigned to you.
To view tasks assigned to all users:
- Click the Name Filter, then select All from the list.
To view tasks in all statuses (such as Open, In Progress, Not Started, Completed, or Cancelled):
- Open the Status Filter and click All.
Creating a New Task
To create a new task:
- Click Add Task.
This opens the Task Creation page, where you can prefill task details using one of the available options displayed on the screen.
You can also use a Task Template to create a task more quickly.
Example:
- Select the RMD Follow-Up template.
- Assign an Owner.
- Set the Priority.
- Mark the Status as In Progress.
You can optionally:
- Assign a Task List.
- Choose a Category.
- Enter Task Details as needed.
Before saving, choose who can see the task:
- Either All Users
- Or Just Yourself
Once that’s set, click Save to complete the setup.
The task will be created with the due date you’ve assigned.
Managing and Updating Tasks
To take action on a task:
- Click the three dots next to the task.
From there, you can:
- Reassign it to another user
- Edit the task
- Duplicate it
- Move it to a different list
- Change the task status
You can also perform quick actions directly from the task menu, including:
- Creating an appointment
- Sending an email
- Sending a text
- Placing a call to the contact
Performing Bulk Actions
To perform bulk actions on multiple tasks:
- Use the checkboxes to select them.
- This opens the Bulk Action Menu, where you can apply updates to all selected tasks at once.
Example:
To change the due date for multiple tasks to the same time two days from now:
- Update the Date and Time fields.
- Click Save.
This will update the due date for all selected tasks.
Wrapping Up
That’s how you create, manage, and update tasks under a contact in LeadCenter.
